Transit van side door wont lock.
Hi i have a ford transit lwb 2009 the problem is the side door will not lock with central locking key fob but front and rear tail doors do so was advise that the side door locking mechanism at fault.
When you then try to lock the van by pressing the lock button it relocks the rear doors and beeps the horn to say a door not closed.
Tried to use the central locking manual switch but the plastic internal shattered.
If you do not remove the power door lock fuse the central locking system will attempt to lock the door as you turn the key to depress the active retainer which will make it very difficult to remove the lock.
Removed mechanism and fitted new mechanism to side door still wont lock have you any advice wiring seems ok.
How do i manually unlock this so i can get it open to work on the lock.
The power door lock fuse is 163 which is a 20 amp fuse located in the lower row of fuses fourth from the right photo 24.
In my case i could have probably unhooked the yellow.
Door jammed shut won t open when central locking locks or releases.
All doors are closed though.
Drivers side door won t open.
Sometimes when you press the unlock button on the keyfob to unlock the rear of the van only the back doors unlock.
If your drivers side door won t open try spraying some wd 40 into the area where the door connects with the lock inside the car.
I have a 2003 transit van and had problems with the central locking i had to lock the whole van then quickly unlock the back while holding the side door handle then lck the back doors by flicking the read more.
